The Chief Compliance Officer ("CCO") is a senior level position within OptumHealth Bank. This role has primary responsibility for monitoring changes in laws and regulations to ensure compliance with State & Federal banking laws and regulations. The CCO establishes and implements standard policies, procedures, processes and best practices across the Bank and within United Health Group guidelines. In addition, the CCO serves as the Community Reinvestment Act ("CRA") Officer for the Bank and oversees the CRA program. This position manages external regulatory relationships ensuring excellent service levels and compliance with regulations.
Primary responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the business processes related to regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as liaison between the bank and other groups with UHG to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
  • Initiate and lead and /or participate in major projects having compliance impact.
  • Work effectively across the bank and UHG where interdependencies exist to build/leverage relationships.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (FDIC, State of Utah) and new industry technologies relating to performed functions.
  • Responsible for assuring policy and procedures are in compliance with all banking regulations.
  • Responsible for training of all bank employees and management on regulatory compliance issues
Qualifications
  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years experience in supervising or managing people
  • Full understanding of the complex, regulatory compliance requirements, and monitor and assure adherence.
  • Experience with legal/financial documents
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work effectively at Senior Executive level
  • Ability to initiate and manage corporate wide projects.
  • Strong understanding of computer technologies
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills for presentations to internal and external executives, managers and customers
  • High level customer service standards essential
  • Extensive organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain professional stance in high pressure, deadline oriented environment
  • Decisiveness required
  • Ability to influence others to desired direction
  • Proficient analytical ability
