Arconic is currently in search of a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our team in Davenport, IA.

The Continuous Improvement Specialist teaches, coaches, and provides lean manufacturing tools and skills to the organization to drive continuous improvement through partnership with the organization, eliminates waste, and enables sustaining processes and systems while supporting the Continuous Improvement Manager. The role proactively promotes and practices lean manufacturing, and will act as a leader for continuous improvement in areas assigned, including::

  • Assist in collecting data and preparing and developing improvement projects at the Plant and department/area levels.
  • Coach and work together with organization leaders in sustaining and utilizing the continuous improvement and Reliability Excellence (REX) and other improvement systems.
  • Proactively assist in leading and maintaining plant focus on methodology and philosophy.
  • Assist in sharing learnings between the areas within the plant and transferring knowledge from other sites within and outside the plant.
  • Develop own personal continuous improvement and REX skills, and actively participate in teaching and coaching the rest of the plant in continuous improvement training programs.
  • Lead large events including the annual business planning cycle.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Two-year degree in a Technical Field, Science, or Business Administration,
  • Minimum 3 years exposure to manufacturing, manufacturing support or engineering environment
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office software (Power point, Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
  • Experience with one or more of the following techniques: Kaizen, 5S, Problem solving techniques, Leaders Standardized work, Standardized Work, Error proofing,, TPM.
  • Knowledge and understanding of a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with effective root cause analysis and problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Science or technical filed.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work at different areas at various times to support teaching and aspects of projects.
  • Demonstrates leadership, tenacity, planning, and practical learning behaviors.
  • Ability to work in teams and contribute individually.
  • Demonstrated problem solving capacity.
  • Good human relations skills and able to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
