About this role

The Cedar City Hospitalist group is searching for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team. As a Hospitalist APP in our group, you will be trained with a formal onboarding process, have the opportunity to participate to work in a collaborative group of physicians and other APPs, and receive a robust package of benefits including medical, dental, 401K matching, and more. In addition to these benefits, you'll also be provided with an annual CME stipend for continuing education and professional development, and three professional memberships. This position includes admitting and swing shift duties, as well as weekends and some holidays, as hospitalists often work on a rotating schedule.

Opportunity Details:

  • Practice location: Cedar City Hospital in Cedar City, Utah
  • Shift Time: 11:00 am-9:00 pm
  • Alternating weekends, holidays
  • Full time shift obligation ~ 15 shifts per month/182.5 shifts annually
  • No call required

Education and Licensure:

  • Master's degree or higher in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Current state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of experience as an APP is required. Prior experience working as a hospitalist or in a relevant inpatient care role is highly desirable.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness and ability to stay updated with the latest medical advancements and maintain continuing education requirements.
  • Commitment to providing safe, high-quality patient care, adhering to hospital quality and safety standards.
  • Aptitude to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing hospital environment, making quick and sound clinical decisions.

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- and -
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
