Take Your Geotechnical Career to the Next Level

Are you ready to be challenged, make a difference, and experience professional growth in your career? Kleinfelder's Geotechnical team is looking for you! From earthquake and seismic engineering to the latest trenchless technology methods, Kleinfelder's Geotechnical Services support the planning, engineering, and construction of complex projects, and our specialists are leading experts in their fields.

Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder's Salt Lake City Area Office is hiring a Trenchless Geotechnical/Geological Engineer!

This position will focus on executing comprehensive geotechnical investigations for various trenchless projects. This will include completing field work to direct and oversee subcontracted drilling crews for the exploratory campaign and collect geotechnical data, coordinate laboratory programs, analyze data, and generate geotechnical reports. Additional responsibilities may include construction inspection, trenchless design efforts, and other duties as assigned.

This role will provide significant opportunity for professional growth and development. The chosen individual will begin by honing skills related to geotechnical field investigations utilized for trenchless crossings and developing the associated laboratory programs and geotechnical reports. These skills are integral to any engineering geologist or geotechnical engineer. The individual will learn how to assess geotechnical data and determine subsurface material characteristics and parameters, then use the information to analyze how the subsurface conditions will affect trenchless design and construction.

The chosen individual will have further opportunity to develop and advance skill sets related to trenchless design and construction. This may include the ability to assess site conditions through desktop studies and onsite reconnaissance, support engineering design efforts, and perform construction oversight and inspection.

The chosen candidate must be self-motivated, accountable, responsible, reliable, and have strong abilities to work autonomously, particularly when required to work from remote field locations. The individual must be open to travel, extensive hours, and outdoor work in order to support and complete assignments which are often field-based work. The targeted individual is highly motivated towards meeting project and team requirements, technical advancement, and continuous improvement. In return, the candidate will be provided excellent learning opportunities and continuous support from highly trained specialists dedicated to developing top quality deliverables utilizing Best Management Practices.
