HOW YOUWILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

You will: Provide day to day operational support of storage and backup environments:

Primary skill set: Pure Storage as Block solution and Rubrik as Data protection solution, Brocade fiber channel switches, Windows Server 2016.

Secondary skill set: EMC Networker, EMC Data Domain, EMC VNX and VMAX, Hitachi HDS, Fiber Channel Switches.

  • Monitor a ticket queue, alerts and email to identify and resolve production issues.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for customers seeking support on Pure storage and Rubrik data protection solutions.
  • Efficiently triage incoming support tickets, categorizing and prioritizing based on the severity and the impact.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot the disk and tape backup environment to make sure backups complete successfully.
  • Manage the configuration of disk and tape backup, including tape labeling, pool management, and schedule management.
  • Managing, configuring and troubleshooting issues on Pure storage, Brocade switches, escalating/engaging engineering or vendor as on when necessary.
  • Implement and manage backup and recovery process for critical data.
  • Take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution.
  • Provide client support related to storage and backup environments via email and phone, escalating as necessary.
  • Work with a global team, taking and providing warm handover to ensure continuity of 24x7 coverage.
  • Work with platform vendors to pursue issue resolution.
  • Potential cross training with other platforms: Unix, Windows, Database.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Currently working within an enterprise-level storage environment, with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  2. Experienced in Pure Storage FlashArray block storage products and/or in Rubrik r6000 series data protection products.
  3. Experienced in Brocade G series fabric switch products.
  4. Competent in Windows, Linux/UNIX-like operating systems.
  5. Monitor pure storage performance and capacity, ensuring optimal operation.
  6. Diagnose and resolve storage & switch related issues, working closely with vendors, engineering, and other support teams when necessary.
  7. Implement data protection mechanism on Rubrik such as snapshots, replication, and backup solution.
  8. Familiar with SRE principles such as user journeys, SLI/SLO, and synthetic probers.
  9. Strong analytical, problem solving, and trouble shooting skills.
  10. Ability to adapt to new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in medium to large IT infrastructure across multiple datacenters.
  2. Good understanding of enterprise level change, incident, and problem management processes.
  3. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well on a global team.
  4. Ability to work and prioritize in a highly dynamic work environment with a global focus.
  5. Automation utilizing scripting languages like bash, Python and/or Perl.
  6. Beneficial, but not required, experience in block storage (Dell, Hitachi), file (Netapp, Dell Unity), and/or backup solutions (Networker, DataDomain).
  7. Familiarity with Unix/Linux command line operations and server support.
  8. Understanding of how to troubleshoot basic Unix/Linux problems.
