Job Description

We are open to this role working remotely in the Salt Lake City, UT area or hybrid in our American Fork, UT location. Unfortunately, Henry Schein One is unable to hire individuals residing in Alaska, North Dakota, Hawaii, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Puerto Rico, or other US Territories at this time. This role is a W2 role and will not consider C2C candidates.

Job Summary

You will be part of a talented team of software engineers who strive to provide a best-in-class solution for our dental customers. This position is responsible for performing advanced programming tasks for the maintenance and enhancement of our Dentrix Core Practice Management System and will have ownership in the financial and insurance domain of the platform.

What You Will Do

  • Implement new features, enhance existing features and eliminate bugs 
  • Improve operations by recommending changes in policies and procedures
  • Communicate and assist in development of architectural standards and mentor other developers in their use
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings and code reviews
  • Mentor other team members through pair programming
  • Solve complex problems using knowledge, passion, and curiosity 
  • Code with adherence to best practices including test driven development 
  • Partner with our DevOps team to build and support CI/CD pipelines

  • C#, .NET and C++
  • SQL (MS SQL Server) 
  • WinForms and WPF
  • GitLab with CI/CD pipelines
  • Client Server Architecture

Qualifications

What You Will Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field or related working experience
  • 8+ years of experience building backend software utilizing our technology stack
  • Prior as experience as a team or tech lead is preferred
  • Understanding of domain driven design
  • Understanding and defining cross-team interdependent roadmaps
  • Experience working in an agile environment (Jira a plus) 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Enjoy sharing ideas with, and learning from, other team members 
  • Effectively estimate engineering work within 6-12 month timelines

The posted range for this position is $115,000 - $155,000 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a 12.5% bonus not reflected in the posted range.
