HR Co-Op-Metal Forming Business Unit

Job Description Summary

The Human Resources College Co-Op will have the opportunity to learn in a hands-on environment within the Metal Forming Business Unit of AAM. You will be learning about various policies and procedures, talent acquisition, benefits, learning and development, and other topics within human resources. You must be currently enrolled in a four-year bachelor's degree program.

Job Description

  • Providing support to our manufacturing facilities on talent acquisition items such as reviewing candidates, creating official job offers, assisting in the pre-employment process.
  • Conducts salary new hire orientations as well as the onboarding activities.
  • Creating proposed organizational charts for the business unit.
  • Reviewing data, analyzing reports involving human resources topics.
  • Supports the hiring and retention of our college co-op program.
  • Supports the Metal Forming Human Resources team with day-to-day activities and special projects.
  • Coordinating employee morale events at our location.
  • Performs general administrative duties: filing, tracking information, scheduling, etc.
  • Assists with entries in our various information systems.
  • All other duties assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Anticipated graduation date of April 2024 or later
  • Minimum overall Grade Point Average of 3.0
  • Ability to work at least 25 hours per week
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

A person in this role would be successful if they have the following:

  • Strong confidence in using Microsoft (Primarily Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and respecting highly confidential information
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrable ability to function in a team environment, supporting team members when needed
